The Best Shampoo for Blonde Hair - PRO-VOKE Touch of Silver

So here I go, I haven't blogged for quite a while but now I have something I have to tell everyone about! I've had blonde highlighted hair for as long as I remember now, over the years it's seen almost every shade of blonde you can imagine. My natural hair colour is dark blonde and these days I usually have a mixture of bleach, natural blonde and golden blonde. For about two weeks after having my hair highlighted I love the colour, it's a light natural golden blonde but over the following weeks it becomes more yellow than golden. I can't stress enough how much I hate that yellow colour! It looks cheap and quite frankly like I dyed it myself at home using a off the shelf home colouring system.

I remember a hair dresser years ago telling me about purple shampoo and how great it is for removing the brassiness from blonde hair but until now I've not been able to find it in anywhere local. To my amazement a few weeks ago I found some in Boots and it was only around £3 so I thought I would give it a try. The PRO-VOKE Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo came in two different types the twice a week version (which I have) or the daily maintenance for every day use. I decided to get the one to use twice a week because I was worried how it was going to smell, but I didn't need to because this shampoo smells amazing!

After the first use I didn't notice any real difference but after a couple more washes using PRO-VOKE Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo my hair looked a much better colour and no brassiness at all.

Here's how my hair looked before:

My current favourite nail colour

For years I have worn a French syle polish on my nail because of I love the clean, perfect look they give your nails. However just recently I have started experimenting with colours again. I have been sampling lots of different brands such as Jessica, Rimmel, OPI and Red Herring but my favourite so far has to be Plugged-in Plum by OPI. I have been searching for the perfect purple for a while (purple being my favourite colour!) and it's taken a while but this is it! It's a gorgeous silky purple, not too dark but has real depth in the colour. I used a top coat by Jessica and it last around a week, I'm sure it would have lasted longer but I needed to take it off for work

The Best Nude Lipstick!

After all these years searching for my the ultimate nude coloured lipstick, I've finally found it - MAC's Cherish! I've tried a lot, some too light (made me look like I had a heart condition) some too dark, some had too many sparkly bits.... but this one is perfect. It's a soft beige colour with a touch of pink, not too brown and not too pink just a nice nude colour. A lot of lipsticks haven't suited my lips in the past but MAC's lipsticks feel so nourishing and don't dry my lips out at all. I have a problem with dry lips anyway, so I certainly don't need lipsticks to make the problem even worse. This lipstick is the perfect colour the only fault can find is that it is very matte so I prefer to wear it with a clear gloss over the top.

My Favourite Mineral Makeup

I've tried many foundations and mineral powder makeup's since they arrived on the market a few years ago and to my surprise my favourite is cheap and available almost everywhere! I'm talking about Maybelline’s 'Mineral Power' makeup line of course which come with a kabuki brush which is really good too. Usually you don't expect the brush that comes with the product to be very good but this one works really well and is lovely and soft on the face. I use Number 8 which is called Golden Sand and it works well with my skin tone, although I'm considering getting a darker colour too for times when I'm wearing false tan so it blends better (nothing worse than a white face and tanned body!) There is an impressive range of 12 shades so you will be sure to find the right colour for you skin tone. When I first used this product I thought I would have to use additional products such as concealer to cover a few ache scars I have but it actually gave a really good coverage so I didn't have to use anything else at all - I'm so shocked about this! I've got sensitive/combination skin (I get rosacea on my cheeks and oily around my nose) and this product worked really well for this skin type but I think if you have more oily skin it probably wouldn't work as well. Maybe a few more dusting's of powder would be required to avoid being shiny or a good face primer. The best thing about this mineral makeup is that it didn’t break down and become cakey which you would expect from a powder. I wear it every day, putting it on first thing in the morning and taking it off before bed and it seems to stay put all day and only a minimal amount has worn off. I can't express enough how much you should try this product, I don't think I'll ever change my foundation ever again now I've discovered this!
